The family of popular Nigerian content creator and disc jockey, Ademola Abiodun, widely known as DJ Chicken, has made a heartfelt appeal following his detention at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram by content creator Temilola Sobola on July 142026, DJ Chicken’s elder sister pleaded with the public, his fans, and fellow content creator Tunde Perry to help secure his release.
Holding back tears, she called on those who have influence to come to her brother’s aid, saying she hopes he can be forgiven and spared from spending more time behind bars.
“Please, Tunde Perry, I’ve heard a lot about you. Please help me support him. To all his fans, please help me support him. Don’t let him go to jail,” she said.
She also revealed that their situation is even more difficult because they have no parents to rely on, explaining that she and her brother are orphans.
DJ Chicken was recently arraigned before a Lagos magistrate’s court over allegations linked to a video he shared on his social media platforms, where he stated that President Bola Tinubu would not secure re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
Authorities alleged that the video contained threats directed at Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son. Following his court appearance, the magistrate ordered that he be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending further proceedings.
Since the emotional appeal surfaced online, it has generated widespread reactions across social media, with many users expressing sympathy for the family while others continue to debate the circumstances surrounding the case.
