Police arrest man for ‘unlawful possession of pistol’ in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command says its operatives have arrested one Adegun Aboderin, a 33-year-old male, over unlawful possession of a pistol.

Aboderin was arrested in the Abule-Ado area of the state.

The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed the arrest in a post on his X handle on Thursday, May 23.

Hundeyin said the suspect was apprehended during a stop-and-search operation, adding that a locally fabricated semi-automatic pistol was recovered from him.

Hundeyin wrote: “Suspect: Adegun Aboderin ‘m’ aged 33, Exhibit: Locally fabricated semi-automatic pistol. Where arrested: Abule-Ado. Time arrested: 6am. How arrested: Stop-and-search.”

The spokesperson added that the command has commenced an investigation into the incident.
