The police in Lagos state have arrested a suspect in connection with an alleged robbery incident that took place at a venue where a supposed job interview in the Magodo area in the state, was supposed to take place.
A Nigerian lady who shared her experience online, said the setup looked convincing — a hotel location, organised environment, even free food. She stated that nothing raised suspicion at first. However, things took a different turn when the job interviewers asked all the applicants step out briefly, only to return and find their belongings including phones, money, and other valuables, all gone.
In a statement released today April 12, the Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident and said a suspect has already been arrested.
‘’The Command confirms that the incident captured in the viral video is under investigation. The case was reported at about 11:00 p.m. on 09/04/2026. One suspect is currently in Police custody, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects and bring all those involved to justice.
Members of the public are advised to be cautious of fraudulent online job offers and to always verify the authenticity of such offers.”
