A lady Shantel Eno Oka, whose brother was allegedly killed by their two stepbrothers in Cross River State, has spoken out.
LIB reported that police arrested the suspects in connection with the alleged murder of Bassey Eno Ibiang in Yakurr Local Government Area of the state.
The incident was reported to the police on October 25, 2026, based on allegations that the suspects, Omini Eno Ibiang, 28, and Emmanuel Eno Ibiang, 26, attacked the deceased over an allegation that he stole a bag belonging to their elder sister.
According to the complainants, the deceased was allegedly bound and subjected to a severe assault using a sharp object.
He was subsequently taken to Ugep General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead, and his body was deposited in the hospital mortuary.
In a series of posts on Facebook, Shantel shared photos of Bassey and the suspects, demanding justice and alleging that polygamy ended her brother’s life.
She also recounted how her three stepsisters allegedly attacked her in 2010.
“WHY WE FIGHT AGAINST POLYGAMY. It just ended my bro life. Dis 2 in the pic below happened to be my stepbrothers. The beat my big- bro to death in his room over a false accusation without evidence. Mak una roast am eat am oooo. Temperate Jnr Ibiang Samuel …. See dem here,” she wrote.
“HISTRY REPEATED IT’S SELF. Far back on 3rd jan 2010. A DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET. My 3 step- sisters attacked me wit a hot, boiled water in flask poured me on my back. My saving Grace was I wasn’t in the house. Dey met me outside, so dey couldn’t killed me because of people’s intervention.
