US President Donald Trump has shared chilling videos showing convicted criminals being sent to CECOT, El Salvador’s notorious maximum-security prison, describing the inmates as “killers, drug dealers and thugs.”
In the caption accompanying one of the videos, Trump wrote: “THIS IS WHERE WE SEND OUR KILLERS, DRUG DEALERS & THUGS.
“THIS IS WHY MURDER AND OTHER CRIMES IN AMERICA ARE AT RECORD LOWS.”
The Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT) is a maximum-security prison in Tecoluca, El Salvador.
The mega prison can hold up to 40,000 inmates. Each cell can fit 65 to 70 prisoners.
