Social media personality Saida Boj has expressed frustration over the country’s economic and security challenges, saying she has gone from being optimistic about Nigeria’s future to contemplating leaving the country.

In a video shared online, Saida Boj recalled how she once laughed at the idea of relocating abroad and remained hopeful that conditions in Nigeria would improve.

However, she said recent realities have changed her outlook, citing insecurity, the rising cost of living, and poor infrastructure as major concerns.

The influencer particularly lamented the difficulty of travelling by road to her hometown, stating that fears of kidnapping and insecurity have made what was once a simple village trip feel risky.

She also complained about the increasing cost of transportation and basic necessities, arguing that many ordinary Nigerians are being priced out of experiences that were once considered normal.

According to her, the combination of insecurity, economic hardship, poor electricity supply, and inadequate infrastructure has left many citizens feeling discouraged about the country’s future.

She said …

“Before, If you tell me say you wan japa go Nigeria I go laugh you. Yes that is who I used to be, a girl who was quite optimistic about the country say one day e go better.

But yesterday I found myself thinking about japaing. That’s to show you how much Nigeria has failed me.

Me I just want to visit my village because of the smell of the village, the road trip, the smell of the river. But right now them no born you well say you wan travel by road go your village.

In fact right now Nigeria is too expensive for p0or people. You no even fit travel. If no be flight, dey where you dey. E come be like p0or people n0 be human beings. Cost of living one take the living.

Light, water, road bad. Everything is bad in this country. What is happening in this country? Are we trying to close Nigeria? Let us know. E come be like them don sell this country. Dey no get hope for this country again. They just want make we suff£r, when we suff£r we go run, the country go come empty.

Me wan go Kogi, then no born me well to go by road. Make them hold me dey call one kind money wey we no get?

The bare minimum of travelling to one’s village is now luxury.

I used to be the one who would say oh pray for Nigeria. But let’s face reality it doesn’t look like that anymore. It looks like we all have to run”
