A Nasarawa State High Court on Monday remanded a man, Timilehin Ajayi, at a correctional facility over the killing of his 24-year old girlfriend, Salome Enejo.

Ajayi, whose address was not given, is being charged with culpable homicide.

NEWSUNPLUG earlier reported that he was arraigned at the High Court of Justice, Lafia before Justice Simon Aboki on Monday.

The state Counsel, Stanley Ifeanyi, told the court that Ajayi killed Enejo, a member of the National Youth Service Corps, in the FCT.

Ifeanyi said that the offence violated Section 221 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria, and was punishable with death.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge

The presiding judge, Justice Simon Aboki, remanded Ajayi at the Lafia Custodial Centre, and adjourned the case to March 17, 2025 for a hearing.

He pledged to give the case an accelerated hearing because of its seriousness and sensitive nature.
