Security agents are currently stationed at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos state as the Hardship protest is expected to begin across the country today August 1.

Security agents and their vans are positioned on different sides on the tollgate.

Recall that the Lekki tollgate was where the shooting incident that characterised the October 2020 EndSARS protest occurred.

The shooting incident led to nationwide crisis with many government and private properties destroyed by suspected thugs who hijacked the protest.

A video from the tollgate this morning showed few vehicular movement. Meanwhile banks, schools, businesses and public places are currently shut as the protest begins today.
