Chris Brown’s former housekeeper, Maria Avila, has asked a court to issue an arrest warrant for the singer, alleging that he has obstructed efforts to collect a $9 million judgment awarded over a dog attack at his Los Angeles home.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Avila said Brown had failed to provide dates for a court appearance to examine his finances and identify funds available to satisfy the judgment.
She alleged that he had refused to arrange an appearance with his bank records and that the financial information he had already supplied was incomplete. Avila said the material “calls into question the accuracy and completeness of [Chris’] disclosure with respect to payment sources associated with his ongoing tour.”
She was initially awarded $13 million following a jury trial, but a judge later reduced the judgment to $9 million, which she accepted. The lawsuit arose from a 2020 incident in which Avila said a dog attacked her while she was taking out rubbish at Brown’s property. The report did not indicate that the court had granted her request for an arrest warrant.
