Previously, Busola Oke went viral after breaking down in tears while discussing the difficulties she has faced in her personal life and music career. During an appearance on Biola Bayo’s TalkToB Podcast, she explained that the emotional video was recorded during a period of hunger, depression, and mounting debt.

She said, “I cried on my live video because I was lonely, depressed, frustrated, and hungry. I didn’t ask for help because that isn’t my nature. Since 2020, I’ve kept my struggles private to avoid being mocked. I know many people, yet no one offered help. At one point, I couldn’t even pay my house rent of N1 million, and I was struggling to afford meals.

Currently, I don’t have a car and owe several people money. The last car I had was in 2020. I’m trying to pay off my debts and even struggle to cover my hotel bills, which are N55,000 per night. I need basic shelter and a car even an old one. The money I should spend on food goes toward Uber rides.”

Reacting to this situation, the woman abroad criticized both Busola Oke and Biola Bayo, claiming they mishandled the matter. She stated that “both flopped,” questioning why a talented adult in 2026 would resort to social media to seek financial aid. She added that Busola is capable of working and should pursue other ways to earn an income rather than relying on donations online.

The woman recommended that Busola could leverage platforms like TikTok to promote her music, grow her audience, and generate streaming revenue. She also suggested networking with Nollywood actors for acting roles or paid appearances, rather than repeatedly turning to the public for help.

She further criticized Biola Bayo for allegedly encouraging dependence and irresponsibility by supporting online fundraising. While acknowledging the reality of depression, the critic argued that some of Busola’s difficulties stem from personal choices.

Finally, she questioned how Busola would manage future expenses if donations only cover immediate needs, such as rent. She advised that Busola focus on building sustainable income streams and creating content independently, instead of relying on public sympathy.
