Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Paul Enenche, has criticised Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi over a controversial comment concerning the position of Christianity in Nigeria.
Enenche reportedly reacted strongly to Gumi’s statement that Christianity is subordinate to another religion in Nigeria, describing the remark as unacceptable and questioning why authorities had not taken action over such comments.
Speaking on the issue, Enenche said, “An ins@ne man said Christianity is subordinate to other religions in Nigeria. Such people belong either in prison or a psychiatric hospital. I blame the government for overlooking such statements.”
The cleric’s remarks have sparked reactions, particularly among Nigerians who have continued to debate the relationship between religion, politics and national leadership.
Enenche maintained that Christianity should not be portrayed as inferior to another religion in Nigeria, stressing the need for responsible statements when discussing sensitive religious matters.
His criticism adds to the ongoing public debate surrounding Gumi’s views on religion and national issues. Gumi has previously attracted attention for his outspoken comments on matters concerning Nigeria’s security, politics and the relationship between different religious groups.
