Cole Palmer has ruled out any move away from Chelsea, dismissing reports linking him with Manchester United as speculation.

The England midfielder insisted he remains committed to Chelsea despite ongoing rumours suggesting a potential switch to Old Trafford, fuelled by his Manchester roots and dip in form this season.

Palmer rejects speculation over future

Palmer, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023, has been linked with a move amid claims of homesickness. However, the 23-year-old denied those suggestions. “Everyone just talks,” he said.

“When I see it I just laugh. Obviously Manchester is my home. All my family are there, but I don’t miss it.”

“Maybe I’ll miss it if I don’t go for three months or something. But then when I get home I think there’s nothing there for me anyway.”

Palmer signed a long-term contract extension in 2024, committing his future to Chelsea until 2033, and made it clear he has no intention of leaving.

Focus on Chelsea ambitions

Despite a quieter campaign in front of goal, Palmer remains central to Chelsea’s plans as they push for a top-five finish and UEFA Champions League qualification.

“We’ve still got a lot to play for. We’ve got the FA Cup semi-final and if we finish in a Champions League spot it puts us in a good position to sign players that we need,” he said.

Chelsea currently sit sixth in the Premier League and are preparing to face Manchester United in a key fixture that could shape their European ambitions.

Players push for squad improvements

Palmer also revealed internal discussions with captain Reece James and club leadership regarding squad strengthening.

“We spoke to the owners and they’re sure of the players that are going to do it,” he said.

“Me and Reece spoke a lot, about things we need, players we need to sign and how things need to be.

“Reece won’t sign a six-year contract if he’s not spoken to the owners and the directors… he wouldn’t sign a new contract if he didn’t know what was going on,” he added.
