Social media activist VeryDarkMan has called on Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Lawal Pedro, to intervene in the ongoing case involving Ahmed Tajudeen Akanbi, who is facing allegations over the deaths of Sheriff Ishola Salami and Prince Kazeem Ademola Akinloye.

VeryDarkMan said the case had taken a new turn following what he described as new evidence which, according to him, raises questions about the role of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, DPP, in the matter.

“If you have never paid attention to any the videos I have me in regards to the case against one ahmed tajudeen AKANBI that is facing charges for the unalive of sherrif salami in April 2023 and the unalive of Prince Ademola Akinloye in 2024….thia case have taken another turn as this new evidence shows that DPP a very powerful office in the justice system of Nigeria might be deeply involved and possibly sponsored to charge ahmed tajudeen with mvrder without a convincing evidence,” VeryDarkMan said.

He subsequently appealed to Lawal Pedro to look into the matter, warning that the handling of the case could affect public confidence in the justice system.

“With this new evidence I am calling on the attorney general of Lagos state DR LAWAL PEDRO to intervene, this case will go further to destroy the trust of Nigerians in the justice system of this country especially in LAGOS STATE,” he added.

The case has already attracted public attention, with the Centre for Human and Socio-Economic Rights, CHSR, previously protesting over what it described as alleged attempts to distort facts and compromise the prosecutorial and judicial processes.

The Guardian reported that police declared Akanbi wanted in February 2026 following investigations into the deaths of Salami and Akinloye. The police said their investigation produced confessional statements and corroborative evidence linking suspects to the killings.

CHSR also called on the DPP and other relevant authorities to ensure that the prosecution was guided by credible and admissible evidence and protected from external influence.

VeryDarkMan’s latest comments are allegations and calls for intervention. They do not, on their own, establish wrongdoing by the DPP or any other justice official. The allegations against Akanbi and the circumstances surrounding the killings remain subject to the legal process.
