Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has paid tribute to the late actor, Olu Jacobs.
It is no longer news that the veteran passed away on Wednesday, September 16th, at the age of 84.
Taking to his social media page to mourn him, Yul, who was fond of the actor, said his death hit him hard. He said Olu Jacobs is a man he has so much respect, love and admiration for.
The son of Pete Edochie noted how Olu was one of the greatest actors from the African continent and a consummate thespian and a legend.
He appreciated him for the legacy he left behind, and the kind words he always gave him. According to him, he learnt so much watching his moves and learnt more filming with him.
Yul recalled how he would stay back while on set with Olu Jacobs to watch him do his own scenes, study his acting style and learn from it.
Bidding him farewell, he prayed that God would grant his family and those who love him the fortitude to bear the loss.
“This one hits hard.
A man I have so much respect, love, and admiration for.
One of the greatest actors from the African continent.
A consummate thespian.
The legendary Sir Olu Jacobs.
So sad that it all comes to an end someday.
Thank you, sir, for the legacy you left behind.
Thank you for the kind words you always gave me whenever I had the privilege to be on set with you.
Indeed, an honour.
I learnt so much watching your movies.
I learnt even more filming with you.
While on set with you, after doing my scenes with you, I would stay back to watch you do your own scenes, study your acting style, and I learnt a lot.
Thank you for everything, sir.
Rest well, sir.
The great Uncle Olu Jacobs.
May God grant your family and we who loved you the fortitude to bear the loss”.
