Three men have been convicted and sentenced by a magistrate’s court for attacking officials of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KIA) in Lagos state.

The suspects, Farouk Olori, Taoreed Alimi, and Ogundare Oluwatobiloba, allegedly assaulted the officials on Tuesday, April 21, during a routine enforcement operation to keep Lagos clean and orderly at Ipodo, Ikeja.

According to a statement issued by the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the trio were arraigned the same day and pleaded guilty.

The statement said the court subsequently convicted and sentenced them accordingly.

Wahab said, “Three defendants who attacked KAI officers at Ipodo, Ikeja, today, 21st April, 2026, were arraigned before the magistrate court sitting at Bolade for assault.
“They all pled guilty and were convicted and sentenced thus.

“The 1st and 3rd defendant, Farouk Olori and Taoreed Alimi, were sentenced to 1 week in prison.

“The 2nd Defendant, Ogundare Oluwatobiloba, who was identified by the court based on available evidence was sentenced to 1 year in prison.”

The state government reiterated its stance against attacks on enforcement officers and warned that anyone found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
