Turkish football transfer specialist, Burhan Can Terzi, has disclosed that an European club has set a substantial offer of €120 million to sign Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray this summer.
He said the club is ready to make the offer to Galatasaray but that the Turkish giants have not yet given any greenlight to negotiations.
Osimhen had an exceptional season in the Turkish Super Lig, netting 22 goals and providing eight assists in 33 matches across all competitions.
His remarkable performances were crucial in aiding the Yellow-Reds to successfully defend their league title, which in turn has drawn attention from numerous top clubs in Europe.
The Nigerian international has been frequently associated with potential transfers to Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Chelsea, and more recently, Atletico Madrid.
Various reports have indicated that Atletico is contemplating Osimhen as a possible replacement if Julian Alvarez leaves the club due to increasing interest from Barcelona.
In light of the ongoing rumors, Terzi stated that the Super Lig champions have been made aware of genuine interest from an unnamed European club.
According to Terzi, this club has communicated to Galatasaray officials their readiness to pay the significant transfer fee for the Super Eagles star.
Nevertheless, the Turkish champions reportedly did not respond positively, indicating their intention to retain the prolific forward.
“A European club has informed Galatasaray officials that they are willing to pay a transfer fee of 120 million Euros for Osimhen,” he was quoted as saying by habersarikirmizi.
“Galatasaray management did not provide a favorable response. Should Galatasaray approve negotiations, a formal offer will be submitted.”
As the new season approaches, the Turkish giants are keen to keep Osimhen as they strive to compete for additional trophies both domestically and in European competitions.
