Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has conveyed his unwavering confidence in his capability to perform against any rival following his pivotal contribution to Galatasaray’s triumph over Fenerbahçe in the Istanbul derby.

Osimhen, who had recently recovered from a fractured arm, received a pass from Mario Lemina and skillfully struck the opener in the final moments of the first half.

In his post-match comments, Osimhen commended the club’s medical personnel for their assistance during his recovery, emphasizing both the physical and mental support he received while sidelined.

“I express my gratitude to Dr. Yener and the medical team. They executed their duties exceptionally well,” Osimhen stated, as reported by Fanatik. “A complete return is unattainable, but they adequately prepared me mentally.”

Reflecting on the match, the former Napoli forward underscored the team’s collective effort, acknowledging that they responded effectively after a disappointing cup performance against Gençlerbirliği.

“We fought valiantly as a unit. We let our fans down in the cup. I take pride in my team’s performance and am pleased with the victory,” he remarked.

Osimhen was particularly assertive regarding his position as a striker, affirming his confidence in scoring against any opponent.

“As is the case in every derby… You know, I can find the net against any team. That is my responsibility. I execute it well. The team deserves accolades; we demonstrated our readiness,” Osimhen disclosed.

This victory further solidifies Galatasaray’s pursuit of the Turkish Süper Lig title, as they now hold a seven-point advantage over Fenerbahçe with only three matches left in the season.

Looking forward, Osimhen asserted that the team remains entirely focused on concluding the season on a high note, beginning with a challenging encounter against Samsunspor.

“We have taken another step closer to our championship objective. Samsunspor is a formidable opponent. We aim to win every match from this point onward.”

He characterized their forthcoming adversaries as a quality team and reiterated the squad’s commitment to approach each remaining game with seriousness.
