The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe) has arrested two suspects for alleged burgling a grocery shop in Ado-Odo/Ota local council of the state.

The suspects, Afolayan Sodiq and Muhammad Adamu, were arrested by operatives of the Iyesi Area command during a routine patrol led by the Area Commander, ACC Samuel Yusuf.

The Corps’ Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, confirmed this to newmen in a statement by the Corp’s Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adebisi in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Ganzallo said that a tricycle belonging to Sodiq and loaded with various cartoons of groceries and wine was intercepted at the wee hour of April 23, 2026.

He said that during the interrogation, Sodiq said that one Mr. Lucky wanted to transport some loads from Royal City College/Monarch University area in Iyana Iyesi and his assistance is required which he agreed to help out with his tricycle otherwise known as Keke.

The Corp’s Commander said that in order to bait the other suspects, the interrogation operatives asked Sodiq to call Adamu and Mr. Lucky which he did pretending that all was well and it resulted to the arrest of Adamu while Mr. Lucky was suspicious and did not show up.

Some of the items recovered include wine, noodles, groundnut oil, which are all in cartons and a yellow coloured motorcycle.

Ganzallo explained further that after interrogation, the suspects took the operatives to the crime scene for assessment.
