Two graduating students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) identified as Gloria Ajor and Godwin Benjamin, have d!ed in a motor accident in Cross River State.
The crash which involved a Sienna bus conveying passengers from Bekwarra Local Government Area to Calabar, occurred on Thursday night, April 9, 2026.
According to CrossRiverWatch, the two victims were en route to Calabar for UNICAL’s 38th convocation ceremony held on April 10.
According to a Facebook user, Odey Matthias Ojeka, several passengers lost their lives and others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Witnesses said good Samaritans arrived promptly at the scene to evacuate survivors to nearby medical facilities.
Meanwhile, Gloria was laid to rest on Saturday, April 11.
