Chelsea star Cole Palmer on Wednesday became the second Blues player to assist two UEFA Champions League goals as a substitute, and the first since Nicolas Anelka against Liverpool in April 2009, according to OptaJoe.

Palmer achieved this feat after Chelsea’s Champions League 3-2 victory against Napoli on Wednesday night.

The England international came off the bench to replace Pedro Neto in the second half of the encounter in Italy.

Similarly, Barcelona forward Marcus Rashford is one of only two English players to score a direct free kick for two different teams in the UEFA Champions League (Manchester United and Barcelona), after David Beckham (Manchester and Real Madrid).

Rashford achieved this feat after scoring Barcelona’s last goal in their 4-1 win against Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Manchester United loanee will now hope to continue his impressive display for the Catalan club when they face Elche in the LaLiga this weekend.
