Former Beşiktaş forward, Nihat Kahveci, has criticized three Galatasaray players following their 3-2 defeat against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 playoff second leg tie on Wednesday.

In a segment on the Kontraspor YouTube channel, Kahveci expressed disappointment in Leroy Sané’s performance, while also highlighting İlkay Gündoğan and Yunus Akgün’s underwhelming contributions.

Only Akgün did not played against Juventus among the three aforementioned players as Galatasaray progressed to the next stage of the competition on a 7-5 aggregate victory.

“The 90 minutes summary is that Galatasaray advanced to the next round because of the score, but they failed in their performance against Juventus,” Kahveci said.

“They were on the verge of defeat. Galatasaray has problems with players returning from injury.

“Leroy Sane was a disappointment, İlkay Gündoğan and Yunus Akgün couldn’t return. Juventus wasn’t playing with ten men, but fifteen.”
