Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has said it is Arsenal’s year to win the UEFA Champions League.
Rooney was speaking on Amazon Prime, after the Gunners beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the second leg of their semi-final tie.
Mikel Arteta’s men had been held to a 1-1 draw last week at the Wanda Metropolitano.
At the Emirates, it was Bukayo Saka who forced home the decisive goal just before the half-time whistle.
Rooney was left impressed by the atmosphere created by the supporters to push the team through.
He said: “I’ve played a CL semi final here before.
“The atmosphere that evening was nowhere near what it was like today. This is Arsenal’s year.”
