Super Eagles attacker, Ademola Lookman has described the forthcoming match between Atlético Madrid and Arsenal as an emotionally charged as both teams gear up for a crucial UEFA Champions League semi-final at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Lookman, who joined the club during the winter transfer window, has swiftly established himself as a key player for the Spanish team.

The Nigerian international has made a significant impact in Europe this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in six matches, including a crucial goal in the quarter-final second leg against FC Barcelona.

In remarks made prior to the match, Lookman recognized the formidable challenge that Arsenal presents, labeling the Premier League team as one of the most difficult opponents left in the tournament.

“They are a very tough opponent, a top team, we have to be ready to fight,” Lookman stated, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

“It’s the Champions League semi-finals, there are no easy opponents at this stage. It will be a very tough match.”

Lookman acknowledged that the occasion evokes memories of his early football experiences, but emphasized that his main priority is to assist Atlético Madrid in achieving victory and advancing to the final.

“For me, it’s emotional. I grew up in London. The first time was with Charlton, when I was a kid. Being from London, it’s a very special match. What I want is to win,” he added.

Lookman’s return is a significant advantage for manager, Diego Simeone, as the forward has recently recovered from an injury sustained during Atlético’s Copa del Rey final loss to Real Sociedad.

His comeback enhances the team’s attacking capabilities as Simeone seeks to lead the club to Champions League success and prevent a season without trophies.
