A US-based Nigerian woman, Omotoyosi Ogunbanwo, has recalled how a friend cut her after she advised him to dump his fiancee over a crime she committed.
Omotoyosi, who shared the story in a Facebook post on Saturday, July 4, said while everyone begged him to forgive his fiancee, she advised him to move on and find someone else.
A month after the incident, her friend and his fiancee sent wedding invites to everyone except her, smoothly cutting her off.
She said has since learned never to get involved in other people’s business.
“Just randomly remembered a guy in our friend group who broke up with his fiancée because of something she did. Everyone was begging him to forgive her. I said why should he forgive her? What she did was terrible. He should move on and find someone else,” she wrote.
“A month later, they were sending wedding invitation to everyone and I was the only person not invited to the wedding.
“Husband and wife cut me off clean and smoothly like butter.
“Never put mouth in other people’s business was my lesson from that.
P.S: what she did was a crime oh. And if it was my girlfriend in the same situation, I’d tell her to break off from the man because you don’t want to tie yourself up with someone who could commit crimes like that.
“But he married her and they are happy together because at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter whether you are a good or bad person. Whoever wants to love you will love you.”
