US First Lady Melania Trump earned approximately $10.71 million from her documentary Melania, according to newly released financial disclosures tied to President Donald Trump’s annual filings.
The Amazon-backed documentary, which reportedly grossed around $16 million worldwide at the box office, generated a personal payout for Melania that exceeded half of its total global earnings. The financial disclosure indicates that Melania also received about $521,000 from her memoir, along with more than $6 million from non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and other digital collectibles.
The documentary attracted significant attention throughout its release cycle, from a high-profile premiere at the Kennedy Center to criticism over its commercial performance and reported mixed audience reception. It also became the subject of political scrutiny in Washington, where some lawmakers questioned whether Amazon’s reported $75 million involvement represented a standard business arrangement or an attempt to gain influence with the Trump administration.
Former President Donald Trump has maintained that the project was independently handled by his wife, stating that it was her initiative and not connected to his administration. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has also denied any allegations of improper influence or “pay-to-play” arrangements.
