Social media commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, lit up his Instagram page on Sunday, September 14, by sharing a stream of photos of himself alongside a classic 1995 Hummer pickup.
The outspoken critic who recently made headlines for challenging the EFCC said the photoshoot was a personal milestone. He described the Hummer as his “dream car” and joked that he was calling on his ancestors to help make ownership a reality.
“I finally got the chance to pose with my dream car. Ancestors, come through for me ASAP,” he wrote in the caption.
The post quickly drew reactions, including from well-known social media personality Isaac Fayose, who proposed organizing a public fundraiser to buy the vehicle for VeryDarkMan. Fayose even pledged to contribute ₦10 million, insisting the critic deserved such a gift for his next birthday.
“Let’s buy this Hummer truck for @verydarkblackman for his upcoming birthday. He deserves it. Who’s in? I’m putting down 10 million,” Fayose announced.
In a follow-up response, VeryDarkMan expressed gratitude for the gesture and revealed that if the plan succeeded, he would resell the Hummer and donate the proceeds to charity.
“EGBON if una contribute buy am for me I go sell am use the money do charity ooooooo……… MEANWHILE 10 million naira tho egbon haaaaaa, I appreciate the love egbon, but make una no contribute, GOD BLESS THE RATEL MOVEMENT,” VeryDarkMan wrote.
