Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Ukraine to “understand what President Vladimir Putin did.”

Speaking to CBS on Sunday, Zelenskyy said, “Please, before any kind of decisions, any kind of forms of negotiations, come to see people, civilians, warriors, hospitals, churches, children destroyed or dead,” addressing President Trump.

Amid ongoing developments, reports indicate that at least 34 people were killed and 83 others wounded by Russian ballistic missile strikes in Sumy on Sunday morning. Two missiles landed in the crowded city center as people went to church for Palm Sunday.

Analysts believe the civilian toll in Sumy could prompt the Trump administration to adopt a tougher stance in peace talks with Russia as Trump has sought to negotiate an end to the war by engaging directly with Moscow.

The Turkish defense ministry announced that military representatives from Turkey and foreign nations will meet in Turkey on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss Black Sea security in the event of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
