Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, better known as AY, has spoken on emotional neglect and accountability.

On his Twitter page, he said society has normalised choosing sides so much that they’re no longer asked what truly went wrong.

He said emotional neglect is painful and also a form of betrayal. However, one’s hurt shouldn’t automatically justify another’s.

The comedian opined that relationships would survive better if accountability were shared rather than outsourced.

“We have normalised choosing sides so much that we no longer ask what truly went wrong.

Emotional neglect is painful. Betrayal is painful, too.

One hurt should not automatically become justification for another.

Maybe relationships would survive more if accountability were shared instead of outsourced”.
