Nigerian singer Brymo has vented at Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka and others over cultism in Nigeria.
In social media posts, he accused the Nobel winner, former president Olusegun Obasanjo and Gani Adams of having a role in the history and spread of secret cults in Nigerian Universities.
In a direct attack on Soyinka, he challenged him to address the origins of secret societies in Nigerian Universities and questioned his legacy. He argued that Soyinka should speak about the activities of these groups and their consequences on Nigerian students.
He noted that he is the one who fell, and that his statement might make him a target, but he would rather get wealthier.
Calling Wole a violent man, he said he wouldn’t forgive the trio for the killing of boys. He mentioned how Fela Kuti tried to protect young people, while Soyinka and his cousin were killing everyone else.
“I am the one who fell, and Professor Wole Soyinka is a very violent man. Plus, nothing I said or typed here may harm me or mine. I’ll get wealthier instead for this!!
Pete Edochie, OBJ, and the importance of Professor Wole Soyinka’s public address to Nigerian students about the secret cults he co-founded.
I am attacking the source, and I will not stop until Christ returns (black people have hurt themselves too much for me to think I can fit it all in this one material appearance).
So, I’ll be here after I’m seemingly gone in the nightmares of the ones seeking to bring hurt to us all.
I may have to rewrite my lyrics on Olumo; of course, I will not forgive how Wole, Olusegun, and Gani Adams killed—our boys.
How Fela saved his own boys, while the professor, his cousin, was killing everyone else. And till I type these words, I am Karma’s child, and she tells me everything and nothing that I have shared here may cause me or mine harm”.
