Ivie Atuwatse III, the wife of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse, has opened up about his stance on polygamy.
In an interview with the BBC, she shared her husband’s stance on polygamy, saying he can’t change his mind as she is already enough for him. According to her, she is like three women, so she is relaxed in her marriage.
“His Majesty cannot change his mind about polygamy because me alone, I’m like three women! I am more than enough for him”.
Speaking on her choice of outfits, she said she isn’t restricted, as her dressing reflects her personal style and her role. She noted how people question why she covers her hair, revealing that her turban is her crown.
Queen Ivie said that anytime she feels in her Queen mode, she likes to cover her hair to show respect for the office she is in.
“My dressing is how I like it. People ask me why I dey cover my hair. My turban is my crown, so that’s how I see it. So anytime I’m in my Queen mode, I like to cover my hair to show respect for the office n.
I don’t feel I’m restricted. Have you seen my style?
I’m not restricted at all”.
Sharing an unknown secret with the public, she said she is her husband’s stylist.
“You want me to tell you a secret? I’m my husband’s stylist”.
