At least five countries have officially secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup through the FIFA intercontinental and European playoff routes, with just one place to be decided later today.

DR Congo, Turkey, Sweden, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Czechia all confirmed their tickets on Tuesday, following a series of playoff fixtures.

DR Congo secured their ticket to the FIFA World Cup following a 1-0 win against Jamaica after Axel Tuanzebe’s extra-time winner.

Turkey ended a 24-year wait to qualify for the World Cup by beating Kosovo 1-0.

Sweden also defeated Poland 3-2 to book their ticket to the World Cup, while Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Italy via penalty shoot-out following a 1-1 draw.

Czechia overcame Denmark on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, the final remaining slot will be determined when Iraq faces Bolivia in the last playoff match on Wednesday.
