Nigerian movie producer Stanley Ontop has queried Stella Marris, the widow of the late actor John Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu.
Newsunplug reported that Stella and her kids, while speaking to influencer King Mitchy, lamented their plight, revealing that they now fetch water from a well because she hasn’t been able to pay their house rent. She said their light has been cut off for two months, and they have to rely on others to charge their phones.

Responding to her statement, Stanley questioned how she could be soliciting for help just two years after her husband’s death. He questioned what she needed it for, noting that the late actor had left N66 million in his account.

He claimed that during the actor’s burial, Stella said he had no money in his account, yet Nigerians contributed over N30 million. He questioned what had happened to the funds and the properties she had sold in Asaba and Enugu.
“How can you come out two years after your husband’s death and start asking Nigerians to contribute money for you? What exactly is the money for? Mr Ibu left ₦66 million in his account. Where is the money? During his burial, you claimed that he had no money in his account, yet Nigerians contributed over ₦30 million. What happened to those funds? You also sold more than eight of Mr Ibu’s properties in Asaba and even Enugu state. Where did all the money go?”
Similarly, Mr Ibu’s son disclosed that their late father left many properties to all his children, but Stella chose to take everything for herself and her own children. He claimed that she sold one of Mr Ibu’s houses in Lagos for N60 million, another property in Lagos for over N17 million, and also sold the one in Asaba for N11 million. He further claimed that she squandered over N66 million that the public had contributed during Ibu’s illness.
