A 10-year-old student in Florida is facing a felony charge after he allegedly wrote a message on a whiteboard in school, threatening to bring a gun to campus and a list of people he wanted to harm.
The Volusia Sheriff’s Office reported that Micah Swinnie, who attends Pride Elementary, wrote a threatening message in permanent marker on a classroom whiteboard, stating that he would bring a gun to school.
Officials said that he also left a note on a desk, which included a list named “list of people who I’m gunna k!ll,” of three students he claimed he intended to harm.
The Sheriff’s Office said that as a result of his actions, Swinnie has been taken into custody and is facing a felony charge for making a written threat to k!ll.
A video showed him in handcuffs, being led out of a police car and into a police station where he was placed in a cell.

During questioning, he allegedly told deputies that he did not mean the threats.
Parents of the students named on the list have been informed about the situation, and the parent of Swinnie has confirmed that he does not have access to any firearms.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasizes the need for open conversations with children about the gravity of threats and the potential consequences they can face, not only in school but also within the juvenile justice system.
