18-year-old married girl dies during childbirth in Ebonyi

An 18-year-old married woman, Chinasa Odeh, has died during childbirth in Ebonyi State.

The teenager was laid to rest on Monday, December 11, at her husband’s compound in Ndulo Amike Izhia in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.

Her brother-in-law, Oge Nwizhia, who earlier announced her demise, said the baby survived and ‘is full of life’

“We deeply regret to inform you of the passing of our beloved sister-in-law, Chinasa Odeh, on the 12th of October 2023. Tragically, she lost her life during childbirth. We would like to announce thatthe burial ceremony for Chinasa Odeh will take place on the 11th of December at her husband’s compound in Ndulo Amike Izhia. Despite the heartbreaking loss of Chinasa, we are grateful to share that her child has survived and is full of life,” he wrote.
