While the police on Thursday arraigned a 16-year-old boy, Adamu, for armed robbery; Yusuf, 12, and 13-year-old Yinusa were charged with stealing fish from a pond. The police prosecutor, Inspector Monica Ikebuilo, told the court that Adamu committed the offence on June 28, 2020 in Ado-Ekiti.

Ikebuilo alleged that “the defendant robbed one Nafiu Ibrahim and Olaitan of their phones and money. “The offence contravenes Section 2 (1) (a) and (b) of the Robbery and Firearm Act Cap RII Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.”

The prosecutor alleged that “the defendants stole pieces of fish from the fish pond belonging to one Oladele Opeyemi.”

The presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adefumike Anoma, ordered the remand of Adamu at the Children Correctional Centre pending issuance of legal advice.

Anoma granted Yusuf and Yunusa bail in the sum of N10, 000 with one surety each in like sum and adjourned the two cases until July 27.
