Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro showered encomium on his players following their impressive performance against Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday.

The Super Eagles ended their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on a superb note, thrashing Sao Tome and Principe 10-0 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Despite already assured of a place in the competition, Jose Peseiro’s side put up a solid display in front of the home fans.

Peseiro was happy with the commitment level of his players in the game.

“My players showed commitment, I pushed them to do well. Normally when you play against a team that is not strong, everybody relax,” the Portuguese stated during his interaction with the media after the game.

“In this game, they didn’t relax, they put up a spectacle from the first minute to the last they were fighting. They played a good game, we won 6-0 which was good.”
