Former Chelsea player, Florent Malouda, has implored management of Chelsea to extend the contract of midfielder N’Golo Kante.
His advice to ‘The Blues’ followed Kante’s exiting Chelsea soon as a free agent, having not yet penned a new deal with the club.
The former Chelsea winger urged the co-owner of the club, Todd Boehly, to extend Kante’s contract because of his leadership qualities and personality.
Kante’s contract is expected to expire in June.
“Like with Mount, N’Golo Kante is important to Chelsea for other reasons and that is what he represents to the club, what he gives to the team and the way the fans love him,
“I think it’s necessary to keep him at the club, not only as a player but maybe after his career.
“You can see he has given his health for the club. When he was injured, you could see Chelsea weren’t the same. There is also his personality; it is important, he is a role model we need to keep. He is humble and ambitious, he sets an example for the other players,” Malouda told DAZN Bet.
