The Oyo North Senatorial candidate of Accord Party in Oyo State Hon. Shina Peller has endorsed Governor Seyi Makinde‘s re-election bid.
He officially announced an understanding with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the governorship election.
Peller won the HoR seat for Iseyin/Kajola/Iwajowa/Itesiwaju Federal Constituency in 2019 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He later defected to Accord where he got the Oyo North Senatorial ticket in the February 25th presidential and National Assembly elections.
He lost the seat to the incumbent, Senator Fatai Buhari who got the third term victory at the Upper chamber of the National Assembly.
The ceremony took place at Ode-Oba, Iseyin in a carnival like campaign event attended by Governor Seyi Makinde and other leaders of the umbrella party.
Peller, who was at the event with thousands of his supporters, urged residents to vote for Makinde for continuity of good governance.
The endorsement may be a big blow for the camp of the Accord governorship candidate, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu in the coming election.
Peller said he decided to join Makinde’s re-election bid because of his antecedent and performances in the last four years.
He said supports from all the Constituency agreed to support Makinde second term because of what he described as “enviable accomplishment.”
Makinde promised to continue giving even development to every zone of the state.
Governor also inspected the ongoing projects at a Iseyin campus of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) where he assured the people that the project will not be abandoned.
