The Igbo youths under the auspices of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide have urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the incoming 10th Senate to zone the position of Senate President to either the South east or South south.

This was contained in a statement on Thursday in Enugu by the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike.

Nnabuike, who said there are capable hands in both geopolitical zones, noted that efforts must be made to make the incoming administration all encompassing.

He said,

“There are ranking Senators from both zones with enough leadership experience to provide a robust and dynamic leadership for the 10th Senate.

“We are very confident the likes of Senator Godswill Akpabio will no doubt bring to bear an emminent Senate leadership. He’s a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, which will produce next senate leadership and as an in-law to Ndigbo we strongly believe that the interest of Ndigbo will be protected under his watch as the Senate President.

“We urge the APC leadership and the senators-elect to look the way of the two zones in making this choice.”
