A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, has said former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi remains the leader of the party in the state.

Eze, in a statement in Port Harcourt, described reports that the APC was fragmented into factions, especially after the general election, as not wholly true.

He said it was tragic folly for another APC chieftain, Mr. Tony Okocha, to parade himself as the current leader of the party in Rivers.

The party chief said Okocha did not worth the media hullabaloos over his claim as leader of the Rivers APC, describing such claims as needless.

On the allegation of anti-party activities against Amaechi, Eze said such report only existed in the figment of the imagination of the schemers, who were only working to curry relevance in the camp of President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
