Popular Afrobeats star, Davido has stated the step his father had to take to get him into accepting his offer to complete his tertiary education.
Davido said he ditched school at some point to chase his dream and music.
But his billionaire father, who he said loved education, cajoled him to return to the university to complete his studies.
He said the Adeleke patriarch struck a deal with him, pledging to build him a world class studio, fund his music video shoots as long as he agreed to agreed to return to school and attend classes Mondays to Fridays. But could have the weekends to make music in his studio.
O.B.O explained he couldn’t resist the mouth-watering offer so, he ultimately went back to the university to complete his education.
He said,
“My dad is just big on education. The first place I came to when I ran from home was London. From there I came back to Nigeria and my dad wanted me to go to school. So I was like ‘What is in it for me?’.
“He said if I go to school, he has a land not far; he will build me a studio. But I should go to school from Mondays to Fridays and on weekends, work in the studio during the weekend.
“It was a world-class studio. He will give me money to shoot some videos.”
