The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the November 11 election in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye, has told the people of the state that his victory at the primary will unite every part of Kogi and enhance even development.

The ex-federal lawmaker who stated this during a meeting with the leaders from Kogi Central on Monday night said the outcome of the PDP primary election showcased the bond of unity among the people of the state.

“I will not take the massive support of my party and the generality of Kogites for granted. This support will propel me to work assiduously for the development and unity of our State,” Melaye said.

Earlier, PDP leaders of Kogi Central Senatorial District endorsed the candidature of Senator Dino, saying that he has what it takes to take the State to new heights.

Former Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Patrick Adaba, who spoke on behalf of the zone at the meeting held in Abuja, said Kogi Central will give Melaye the support he needs to excel at the poll.

Adaba noted Dino’s ambition will be beneficial to the entire state even as he called on Kogi West not to miss this “golden opportunity” of producing a governor.

“We enjoin our brothers in Kogi West to seize this moment through Senator Dino Melaye. This is their time and we pray that they don’t miss it,” he stressed.

Also speaking, former Deputy Governor of the state, Philip Salawu described Melaye’s victory at the primary election as the will of God and urged the governorship candidate to continue in his peace moves to appease those who lost to him in the delegate election.

The State PDP Chairman, Sam Uhuotu, on his part, said the rotation of governorship slots among the three senatorial districts will engender harmony in the state.

On his part, the former National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, described Melaye as a man that needs no introduction.

“Every Kogites is aware that Dino has always fought their battles for good governance. When elected into office in November, Senator Dino will bring back the fortunes of the state,” Ologbondiyan said.
