Popular On-Air personality, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel aka Nedu has opened up on losing an endorsement deal over a false narrative about hating women.
Nedu, during his podcast session while discussing with singer, Speed Darlington and his co-hosts, explained an unnamed beverage company decided to call off the endorsement deal with him simply because critics were propagating an erroneous claim that he disliked women.
According to him, the beverage company assumed such perception wouldn’t go well with their female audience so the deal was aborted just at the point of signing it.
“I want to say something personal. I lost an endorsement….I almost signed am endorsement three weeks ago and I lost it. Now why did I lose it? I didn’t feel bad, I’m not feeling bad.
“I did feel bad for a second that I lost it.
“Why did it go? Because a lot of people were flying with the narrative that, ‘Ha! Nedu hates women’. And it’s a beverage brand.
“Now the brand come talk say, ‘Ha! If this is what they are saying, which means it’s not going to go well with our female audience,” the comedian said.
He recounted his response to the beverage brand, sharing experiences he’s had with a couple of ladies while querying the skewed mentality of some individuals.
He concluded most of the people spreading the wrong narrative about his disliking women were those who watch titbits of their podcast sessions.
He added those who watch the entire videos don’t hold such view about his personality.
