The Edo State Police Command, on Tuesday, confirmed the arrest of nine suspected cultists for attempting to kill two persons, Oluwa Esimaje, 39, and Festus Osagie, 40, in the Ologbo community, in the Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, said during the attack, the victims sustained varying degrees of injuries and reported the case to the Ologbo Police Division.
He said policemen detailed to investigate the case, stormed the scene and arrested one Osahon Omofuma, 38, and eight other suspects at the crime scene.
Nwabuzor said,
“Esimaje and Osagie reported at the Ologbo Police Division that hoodlums suspected to be cultists opened fire on them at Ogunbaye Quarters in the Ologbo area and in the process, sustained injuries on their head and legs. The police moved in and arrested nine suspects”.
