In order to ensure that Muslims in the state have a hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has deployed no fewer than 5,750 of its personnel across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.

This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen in Lafia on Tuesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel.

The statement read,

“In preparation for Eid-el- Kabir celebration, the Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba, has ordered a strategic deployment of five thousand, seven hundred and fifty (5,750) Police operatives to cover all nooks and crannies of the state, which include Eid praying grounds, recreational centres and other public places.

“Vigorous crime prevention mechanisms have been emplaced on the highways to secure road users, while undercover operatives have also been deployed all over the state for surveillance and information gathering.

“The command hereby warns miscreants and disgruntled elements who might want to leverage on the occasion and perpetrate criminality to steer clear of the State or they shall be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.”
