Multi award-winning singer Burna Boy has said he is unconcerned by the illusion and fallacy flying round with the tag ‘new cat’.
Burna boy, despite releasing his debut album a decade ago, said he is not bothered in any way by it.
Davido, last month stirred a controversy after classifying Burna Boy as “new cats” with Rema, Asake, Fireboy DML and many others.
Many berated the DMW boss for underrating Burna Boy.
However, in a recent chat with Apple Music’s Ebro, Burna Boy said it is a good thing some people think he is new in the industry, stressing that it makes him feel younger and want to do more.
He said,
“It is a good thing that people think my movement is new. I love that. Because it keeps me young. It means like, I can do so much more, you know. It stretches my life span.
“I’m living longer than I thought I would than I even planned to, you know.”
The ‘Last Last’ crooner said he has always known that he would be great.
Burna Boy added that he does all kinds of music because he is “trying to make the world understand that music is bigger than a genre. I feel blessed that I can do different genres. It would have been a waste if I had restricted myself to a genre.”
