Building solutions company, Lafarge Africa, has initiated the process for regulatory approval of Roadcem by Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) under MANCAP certification scheme.
Its Classic brand of CEM II BL 32.5R grade of cement is certified by SON under MANCAP scheme.
Group Managing Director, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, said Roadcem brand is the same grade as the Classic, but is sold to two sets of customers under two brand names.
He said Roadcem is sold to road construction companies as a soil stabiliser, while Classic is sold in bags to the public.
“Lafarge RoadCem has been designed and developed with the intent to stabilise and improve the physical and mechanical properties of soil in road construction,” he said.
Alade-Akinyemi praised SON for the role it plays in enforcing internationally acceptable standards of product.
He noted the vigilance and professionalism of SON constitutes contributes to the economy as it fosters consumer confidence in consumer and industrial goods.
Alade-Akinyemi said,
