The police in Adamawa state have killed two suspected criminals in an operation that dislodged identified hideouts.
The state police command said in a statement Tuesday that its operatives trailed and dislodged the gangs of suspected criminals in Yola South and Fufore local government areas.
The statement said,
“The operation which was carried out on September 11, followed the kidnapping of one Mrs Becky Ladawus, a resident of Nyibango, Yola South Local Government Area.
“More so, the operation which was carried out by the Command’s operatives led by Commander Crack Squad in a joint operation with hunters, yielded positive results as the victim was rescued unharmed.”
According to the statement, two of the suspected kidnappers who laid an ambush to prevent the security agents’ access to their hideouts were killed.
The police said,
“The outcome of these successes followed a collaborative strategy designed by the command and the hunters to rescue the kidnapped victims and arrest the culprits.”
It added that two pump action guns, charms, chains and handsets were recovered and that the state Commissioner of Police had ordered that the fleeing suspects were pursued and prevented from regrouping anywhere in the state.
