Rivers United rallied to beat Angolan side, Academica do Lobito 3-2 in their CAF Confederation Cup Group C clash on Sunday night.

The win boosted the Port Harcourt club’s chances of securing a spot in the knockout round.

The hosts took the lead from the spot in the 37th minute through Cabibi.

Rivers United responded immediately with Udom Edem Ekarette equalising three minutes later.

Alex Oyowah gave the visitors the lead for the first time in the game just before the break.

The former Nigeria Premier Football League champions extended their lead three minutes after the break through Ghana midfielder, Farouk Mohammed.

Fernando Camuege halved the deficit for Academica do Lobito in the 68th minute.

Rivers United remain in third position in Group C with nine points from five games despite the win.
