#2026 WCQ – African zone: Full results of Tuesday’s matches

NEWSUNPLUG brings you the results of the Match Day 6 of the 2026 World Cup qualifier in the African zone played on Tuesday.

In Group C, Nigeria were held 1-1 against the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Victor Osimhen gave Eric Chelle’s side the lead in the 74 minute before Zimbabwe equalized in stoppage time through Tawanda Chirewa.

Also, South Africa defeated Benin Republic 2-0 in Abidjan while Rwanda played 1-1 with Lesotho.

In the other Group D fixtures, Cape Verde defeated Angola 2-1 while Cameroon won 3-1 against Libya.

In Group G fixtures, Uganda defeated Guinea 1-0 while Algeria thrashed Mozambique 5-1.

In other matches played in the qualifiers, Burundi thrashed Seychelles 5-0, Botswana won 2-0 against Somalia, Egypt defeated Sierra Leone 1-0 and Sudan played 1-1 with South Sudan

Also, Comoros defeated Chad 1-0, Mauritania lost 2-0 against DR Congo, Senegal won 2-0 against Togo and Morocco also won 2-0 against Tanzania.

Meanwhile, the Match Day 7 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the African zone will be played in September.
